Wireless solutions increase flexibility and reduce costs.
Cabling on construction sites is often impractical or impossible. On the majority of projects we use some form of wireless connectivity. We provide a range of wireless solutions, offering more flexibility and allowing the camera to be mounted in the ideal location.
Wireless Technologies in use
- WiFi 802.11b/g short distance > Establishes a wireless connection between the camera equipment and a Broadband connection on site
- WiFi 802.11a 5GHz long distance peer-to-peer (max 60Km) > Establishes a wireless connection between the camera equipment and a Broadband connection in the area (line-of-sight required)
- Satellite Broadband > Provides a permanently live connection to the Internet via Satellite, suitable for sites where no fixed-line Broadband is available and a live image stream is required.
- GPRS > Provides a ‘dial-up’ connection to the Internet via the GPRS system, suitable for when no fixed-line Broadband is available and an image upload every 15 minutes is suffice.
Fully Stand-alone Solution
For remote locations we offer a truly stand-alone solution by combining a wind and solar charged battery pack with one of the Wireless Data Connections mentioned above.
How reliable is wireless?
This is a question often asked. On construction sites wireless is often a more reliable method than wired, as circumstances often dictate that cables cannot be installed to standard or cannot be adequately concealed. In the field, wireless systems have proven to be very reliable, even under extreme weather conditions. We will make recommendations regarding the infrastructure options once we have surveyed the site.
